Anyone who knows a little bit about virology, do you have any idea why?
3… 3 tests per day in my building
We don’t. I am not a virologist but I am good friends with one. What is happening is nonsense and a waste of resources. The move seems to be a way of convincing people even more that the gov’t is doing something to prevent the spread of Covid. Daily testing does NOT DO THAT. However, you have idiots in charge who don’t know or understand the science, and doctors who work for those idiots who don’t want to be punished for going against master’s wishes. It’s a colossal clusterfuck of epic proportions.
Dude, you don’t need a virologist, you need someone with an expertise in folklore superstitions and ideological brainwashing.
Seriously it won’t be long til we are all dancing around the flames naked except for covid masks, ritually having the shaman put sticks in our noses in order to keep the evil spirits away. Occassionally, we’ll sacrifice one of our own to the Great Quarantine Spirit when we have angered the gods.
No one will have a fucking clue why we they’re doing any of this. Kinda like it already is right now, now that I think of it.
I mean this in the least dick way, but why do we still keep asking questions like we are trying to ask REASONable questions to satisfy our need for understanding why we live in these conditions. I get it I do the same all the time… But I just can’t handle it. Mostly because the lack of reason, accountability, transparency …(enter 1000 more adjectives for awful and stupid) . Not here to rag on you. It just sucks that no matter how many responses we get, you can only take comfort in the fact that we have collectively put more thought into these things than the people in charge of these fucking rules.
It’s not about virology, it’s about zero covid.
If you’re in charge of Shanghai, or a district, or a subdistrict, or a community, your job isn’t to control the virus while balancing the costs and while taking into account epidemiological considerations and the human cost.
Your job is to get to covid zero. If you don’t get to covid zero, you’re likely to face punishment. But you’re not going to face punishment if your residents are angry. In that scenario, test as much as possible.
Mainly because of the incubation period , the idea is to catch it as soon as possible and control the spread. This strain is especially effective because it can present without symptoms. Also because they are just ticking a box “we did it” on paper. It’s ok saying control, but China… that’s like telling someone that tea, tastes like tea.
Because Winnie the Pooh demands your compliance.
Generally it’s about viral loads and test sensitivity, as someone above touched upon. In short, the test is not 100% certain to detect all cases, all the time, but 0% Covid requires 100% certainty.
I saw a chart a while back of how viral load waxes and wanes during the course of infection and when is the ideal test window for the test to return correct positive results. Since nobody knows when each person potentially got infected and it would be different for everyone, they are left with testing as often as possible to reach their difficult goals.
Let me add, this may not be ideal, but as long as they can keep the disruption from testing (i. e. the time required and the potential of actual cross-infection with others) to an absolute minimum, it’s definitely preferable to indefinite lockdowns and lengthy self-paid travel quarantines every time you leave town for a trip, no? Especially if it’s for free and there are testing booths everywhere.
Ultimately I hope they improve the efficacy of the tests, especially the more convenient Rapid Antigen Tests… but i dont know if that’s even technically, biologically possible due to the above mentioned fluctuations in viral load.
Because your betters says so.
Because taking it every hour may get cumbersome …
Paranoia at the core. They want ZERO.
I have three tinfoil hat theories:
-
Someone in government has a financial interest in the companies that make the tests
-
They want us to fear either the virus or being dragged to a camp. Keep us compliant.
-
They want to ensure as many people as they can get infected and caught, so they can drag as many people away to camps as possible.
So test company earn billions per day and everyone will be sure to be infected due to repeatedly exposure everyday, then testing company earn even more for longer
Check who the current richest man in China is, what he makes his money on, and where his political alligiances lies…
Didnt know it was possible to get so filthy rich on mineral water
If you want to get real news, listen to Andy and Alex on Shine. That’s where all the answers are at.
It’s okay, it’s raining today so it’s not important to go outside for a test, the virus called a truce.
Money. Test manufacturers and TCM companies are raking in billions along with the head of the CDC in China.
CCP: the biggest blight on the Chinese people.
To keep all of you in compliance
either incubation or minimal virus load, people are confused but test don’t necessarily detect every trace of virus, it’s not an on-off switch, you need a minimum amount of virus, doesn’t mean replication, but still some amount for it to be picked up. So if you are trying to prevent contagion, it makes sense, what doesn’t make sense is mass testing where there’s suspected positive cases, because they’ll meet in the stairs/elevator.
