I kind of wish those species were on the map but you could only observe or photograph them. I really love the exploration aspect of this game and it would be really cool even to just “see” endangered animals, and maybe do conservation missions related to them
Do your homework before you claim elephants the african subspecies anyways are critically endangered. In fact there numbers are strongest they’ve been in decades. They could charge per bull tag (no cows or calves aloud)and they could put that money back into the local habitat. This would allow for larger and larger bulls over time. Would also allow more villages and improvements to existing villages.
Bongo is one of the most sought after species in africa and can only be found in the jungles of CAR. Not a fan of killing chimps or baboons simeattheres no reason to hunt them, maybe population control. Lions exist in the jungle as well, love the forest Buffalo idea. I don’t see why it all needs to be jungle though. Look at subdarpatan it goes from jungle/river all the way up to the mountains. They could do the same with an African map. The biodiversity in africa is unmatched. You could go from the jungle to the delta,to the savannah,to the desert to the mountains. They could do this on the same size map or make it 50% larger with more big game and even small game species. They could charge $20 and if elephant,leopard,lion,2 types of buffalo, bongo, gemsbock, greater kudu, eland, gazelle, springbok etc etc. I know I’d pay $20 especially if it came with a .577NE double rifle. Give us something to spend all that money on if they charged $150k for gun and $3500-5k for ammo.
I think when it happens it’ll be similar to EC. Half grassland and half rainforest. Although I do think primates are unlikely. If they do happen I feel like they would be on a South American map as they are actively hunted there
I’d go safari hunting club, the money would go to africa and the protection of there species rather than pandas in asia.
then you’re probably the only one lol
That’s insane. People need to distinguish the difference between games and reality. Most will never see africa let alone have the money to hunt even plainsgame let alone a 3 week hunt and a $100k for a tag for an elephant.
Ok honestly yeah me too
We already have things like tigers and snow leopards. So why not? It’s just a game
And if all the money would go to WWF?
None of the species listed are endangered, thanks though.
That makes sense. I’m not overly familiar with the different organizations for animals.
Totally! When people complain on social media about Big Game hunters they think it’s like here where the government does help with conservation.
Yes hunting does more for African species than WWF. They end hunting and the poachers would have anything with horns or a tusk extinct, they also sell meat to the miners so no species is safe. Just look at Kenya in the 70’s and 80’s. It was one of the best countries for a 100 lb tusker and had a diverse species list and then they ban hunting. They didn’t do it for the animals but they did it to keep hunters and more importantly the PH’s out of the field,so their poaching rings could run without anyone to stop them or at least slow them down. Hell even the villagers report them because not o ly do they get the meat from large kills they also build up the infrastructure and get well water they can drink. Kenya’s now pretty much devoid of any game, because of what else, corruption. So hunters aren’t some evil sociopaths, they actually care more for these animals and the land than most. I’m tired of people saying you don’t need to hunt anymore because we have hormone injected beef which will clog your arteries even faster lol.
Don’t WWF help with conservation?
More diversity in landscape. One corner could be like Ethiopia and vertical then it goes to desert. The other corner could be forest and then it could move into the okavango delta or swamp with the savannah covering the rest. Ok so maybe a bit larger of a map but a $20 map with 20-25 large game species would be worth it. A swan song before cotw2. There’s not much they haven’t covered so no need to keep going on the old engine. Imagine these maps and animals on UE5 or if they have an engine they’re working on they could use that. I play both this and way of the hunter and there’s so much I love about this game ,but woth is built for the newer systems so the faster load times and even though it’s rough around the edges I think woth has the better graphics and animal behavior. It’s more realistic but I can’t stand their 5* system with mostly the same racks and no great ones lol,but you can manage a herd and grow them from young to mature.
Greater kudu shouldve been in instead of the lesser kudu in the first place. They could’ve added them at some point like they added wolves and other species to other maps. They could’ve also added leopards since they lost their moral high ground with tigers and snow leopards.
It might be more that existing things in the game like mount spaces and plaques and ammo would need to be adjusted to support something the size of an elephant.
I’ve never had an issue with that
I’m absolutely aware, sadly!
