I’m located in NSW, Australia, and play on the asia server. Everytime I play, I get 240-260 ping, no matter what. This has happened multiple time across the entirety of October, making me completely unable to play. I used to be a 20 star Dragon on like 100-120 ping by rerouting my connection to the asia server with a VPN, but a while ago, this is all proved ineffective, causing me to get upwards of 300 ping every game.
What the hell happened?
Is there ever going to be a fix for this?
Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Hi, I’m also from NSW, Australia and have the same problem :). My duo and I started playing IDV a few years back when it was literally unplayable without using a VPN (500+ms to 200ms with VPN) which led us to quit playing. To our surprise, we returned earlier this year and had 120 - 180ms connecting to Asia server from Sydney without a VPN! We thought the ping finally got fixed.
Unfortunately it’s jumped to a consistent 250+ms for both of us as well, ever since the recent major engine update a few months back. I think the major update must’ve messed up the routing from Australia. Hoping it gets fixed over time like before because it is just not worth playing right now. Ping is just chaotic for us Australians as we will never be a priority for any online game.
Hmmmm I have 50 ping but weirdly enough it would spike up to 100 and 200 randomly I’ve still managed to do a decent job because my base is at 50 but the weird spikes is just weird. It isn’t every few seconds but it happens. I will say, though my bars are pretty bad nowadays and I don’t know why but I can’t blame the game. Since I’m looking at my phone right now and my bars are 2-3 and my wifi is 2 slices of the rainbow.
I’m located in Pakistan, I get ugly in both, over 250+,sometimes 700+,there’s only solution for Asia I have, connect to SINGAPORE server and let me know if it helps… That’s how I play on my Asia account while my main on NA EU suffers because this company is cncr
Which vpn do you use? I’m on naeu but I have a cute asia acc which I cant play on because I have terrible ping (270+) I don’t think it’ll change much but I have to try
What internet provider are you on? TPG and anyone who uses their lines has been having issues for over a year now with an undersea cable which causes most of the Tokyo server traffic to get routed through LA first. I contacted them when it first started and they basically told me good luck nothing they can do lol
Helloo hii, I am australian and have a lot of australian friends that play. All my friends living in nsw (and wa too) have had their pings go into the absolute shitter after the engine update
Netease did something to how the servers work (in an effort to reduce ping ) and we’re fairly certain we’re connecting to different regions now. And like, for a lot of people, whatever they did, it did work. Certain states in Australia just got completely shafted for some reason
Also from NSW. Ever since the engine update, the ping has been terrible and the naeu server was better for me but not by a lot ?? I played on 160-200ms prior, and was consistently in the 200-300s after the update.
I started using a VPN just because I was grasping at straws at that point, and it reduced the ping to ~120ms. I play on PC though and use Norton’s secure VPN (and connect to the Australia server). Not sure how good it is on mobile, and Norton’s kind of pricy…
Exact same experience here. Wondering if you ever found a fix or if switching providers did anything?
I submitted feedback to IDV and I think they just gave me a template response, and any further queries I submitted (even from different emails) got ghosted.
Long time no see, Star old feaster. You could fix this by:
- Putting low graphics
- Putting Lowest resolution (0.5)
- Mute chase music audio
- Play the game using earbuds or headphones
- Use game booster 4X faster if you play on android
i know right! sorry to hear about your troubles with the game, now i know its not just me. i’m hoping they fix it too, otherwise i don’t know what i’m gonna do. spending $15 on a vpn every month for a game i play a couple times a month doesn’t sound worth it at all.
Same boat as you except India, though 700+ sounds crazy. Try using the lesser used vpns, they usually have low load deserted channels which give better ping. I’ve got 180-240 with New York channels for Na/Eu and 70-110 with Singapore/Hong Kong channels for Asia.
My usual ping used to be 120 minimum.
