How to Instantly Get a Japanese TikTok FYP – The Easiest and Simplest Method

I really enjoy TikTok and spend a lot of time on the app, so I always wanted to see more Japanese content on the app. When I looked up methods to make this happen, most of them involved crazy, time-consuming steps—like resetting your phone, removing your SIM card so TikTok wouldn’t detect the country, changing your phone’s language to Japanese, and using a VPN the whole time your phone is on. There were simpler methods too, but they also took a lot of time and often didn’t work, they required refreshing the FYP and liking Japanese videos until the content finally started showing up. It took way too long, and most of the time, it didn’t even work.

But my method is literally instant. You won’t have to remove your SIM card, reset your phone, or spend hours liking videos to get your FYP in Japanese. You just need two things:

  1. A Japanese VPN of your choice

  2. An Android phone (sorry, iPhone users)

Here’s what you do:

  1. Get a Japanese VPN:

Connect to a Japanese server so that your IP appears from Japan

  1. Download a Virtual Machine App:

Get one from the Play Store (I use Virtual Master because it’s the fastest on my phone, but any similar app will probably work).

  1. Change the Virtual Machine’s Language to Japanese:

Within the app, change the language settings so your virtual device’s entire system is in Japanese.

  1. Create a Virtual Android Device:

Set up your new virtual device inside the app, ensuring that your VPN is on the entire time. (Never enter the virtual machine without the VPN activated.)

  1. Create a New Google Account:

Inside the virtual machine, create a new Google account. This gives you a Japanese Google account (much easier for everything).

  1. Download TikTok and Log In:

Install TikTok on the virtual device and log in using your new Japanese Google account.

  1. Voilà!

You now have a new Japanese TikTok account with a completely Japanese FYP.

Things to Watch Out For:

  1. Never enter the virtual machine without the VPN turned on. It might seem safe to just turn it on before opening TikTok, but I’m not taking any chances.

  2. Make sure your virtual machine is set to Japanese; otherwise, it may cause issues, and TikTok will start showing content in your native language.

Even though my TikTok app language is set to Japanese, the entire interface is still in English for some reason. However, it didn’t affect my For You page at all. So if the same thing happens to you, rest assured—you’re safe.

This method is instant and avoids all the hassles like resetting your phone, removing your SIM card, or spending hours liking videos. Another great thing about this method is that if something goes wrong and your For You page gets filled with non-Japanese content, you can simply delete the virtual machine and start fresh—everything will be in Japanese again. I haven’t managed to mess up my For You page so far, but if it ever happens, I know it’s an easy fix.

seriously doubt you need a VM. just set your device to japanese.

i also somewhat doubt you need a vpn. after all, japanese folks exist in america or whatever too, and they probably often want a japanese FYP. maybe tiktok is aggressive about location in your algorithm but you could always just refuse to give it location permission (in ios anyway).

I just search a few things in Japanese on tiktok and voila my fyp becomes Japanese till i search for smth else

This is a gold tutorial. In the same way you can use virtual machines and Japanese VPN to get Japanese content on any app.

I got a Japanese FYP by just creating another account. I immediately searched for Japanese content, pressed “not interested” on any English content and my FYP became only Japanese very quickly. I almost never come across English videos now and when I do they’re often aimed at Japanese speakers. I also have the language of the app set to Japanese if that changes anything. My region is still set to Canada and I don’t use a vpn.

iPhone user here. VPN set to Japan. Language set to Japanese. In search field I only use Japanese. FYP has been nothing but Japanese for the last few years.

Woaw. Imagine going through all this trouble just to consume more brainrot, just in japanese. And you even have to always connect to a vpn before doing this. Meanwhile I’ve not been recommended a video from my country in more than a decade on youtube. What to expect from chinese spyware that uses tens of gigabytes of internet traffic when you don’t even use the app lol. This and brain rot and shitty content in general is why I’ve been staying away from it for the past 5 years and also shorts.

I mean, it’s not tiktok. but simply using IME to search things with kana on google and youtube has quickly infected my youtube algorithm. I’m kinda surprised that tiktok puts so little weight into what content their users are actively telling them they want through direct searches and instead putting so much weight into mostly meaningless things like location and language setting. Like yeah those two stats are valuable to start the algorithm so that someone in mexico isn’t getting tiktok from korea and south africa but if someone in mexico is actively searching for that content I can’t understand why tiktok’s algorithm wouldn’t eventually shift into mostly displaying that content. Absolutely wild how much they shoot themselves in the foot by ignoring user desires.

Everytime I try TikTok, it’s a 50/50 split if horny and pimple videos. This is with no input to my preferences.

Why not use Dual Apps (i use a Xiaomi and this is a build in Option) with a Japanese Google Account? Maybe if needed activate a VPN before Open the App. There is no need for a VM.

This might be an iOS-only trick because I’ve tried similar methods before, but on Android, TikTok goes as far as checking your SIM card and Google account data to verify your location. The only method that worked flawlessly for me was using a VM. I know that if I followed a lot of Japanese accounts and only liked Japanese videos, the algorithm would eventually adapt without needing a VM, but that takes longer. The VM method is simply faster, and the best part is that I can keep my regular For You Page while also accessing Japanese content for both fun and learning.

Searching works temporarily, but TikTok still tracks your location, language, and account region, so your FYP will reset if you interact with other content. My method creates a true Japanese account, so the algorithm works naturally, giving you the best personalized experience while keeping the FYP fully Japanese.

But i mean, If it works for you and you’re happy with it, that’s what matters.

Thanks, mate! I was experimenting with virtual machines on Android and realized that since it’s a sandboxed environment, TikTok can’t use its usual methods to track real location data. That makes it much easier to get the JP FYP working. And yeah, i didn’t even realize, this surely also works on any other app, then you get the full japanese experience anywhere you want.

Really? Thats awesome then, never could get it working that way, i was about to make an update commend saying you could MAYBE try this method on IPhones using the UTM virtual machine app thats on the app store.
