Expressvpn no longer working

Been watching for a couple years no problem with expressvpn to LA server while in South Korea. All of a sudden today, no matter what region I pick in expressvpn I get the error that states I’m accessing from a restricted region, error er4100.

Any workarounds or solutions for this? I’ve already paid a lot of money for this, I don’t want to miss the race this weekend.

Alright folks, this part has run its course. Please see the stickies posts at the top of the sub like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/F1TV/comments/15bz6zl/consolidated_vpn_discussions_er4100_etc/

Damn, I understand the decision but ultimately this signals the end of me watching F1, unless I can find one online.

I categorically refuse to pay £40 a month to Sky for them to have nothing on demand and to only have 1 or 2 opportunities to rewatch the race if you can’t watch live.

At least my money was going to F1, I guess nobody getsy money now :man_shrugging:

Same, oh well - if it’s not fixed I’ll just cancel my monthly subscription.

Edit: Have just tried multiple VPN and devices - fully locked down now. Can’t see a way around this to be honest, think this is the end of the road for cheaper UK F1…

Yep, Mullvad too. Just cancelled my subscription and will now use my VPN to watch pirate streams completely guilt free. God I hate Liberty Media.

Same happening on private internet access VPN (just an FYI)

If you’re watching via firestick, use streamlocator.com app.
Works perfectly for F1tv.

Same for me. Used NordVPN to watch the Hungarian GP while on holiday in Spain, without any issues. Today is stopped working when i was trying to watch Jolyons Analysis, error code ER4100 for me aswell.

Edit: I’ve also tried several devices, and regions.

Same with Proton VPN. Nothing working

Cancelled my subscription too, no use paying for something that doesn’t work
I really don’t know what to do now, the other sources are such crappy bitrates with skips and delays I don’t really want to mess with them. And Sky is just unfeasible, all of my other monthly subscription services put together don’t even add up to the cost of F1 Sky coverage.

What a shame they’ve done this honestly

Damn I live in Japan and this was the only way for me to watch F1 in English. Hopefully I can figure something else out.

Oh no… i hope they aren’t actually cracking down on VPN users! I’d try rotating the IP address. Not sure if expressvpn lets you do this since I don’t use that vpn service. Otherwise try connecting to a different city in the US. Hope this helps!

Sorry if I’m asking a really stupid question but Is it possible for VPN providers to find a way to get around this? Or is this unequivocally the end of the road??

Well, for me, this is the end of trying to watch F1 legally.

Here in Spain DAZN/Movistar have kidnapped F1 license. I used to pay the yearly DAZN sub when it was 100€, but then, when they got LaLiga license, the service started to be absurdly abusive. They increase the sub a 50% in less than 2 years going from 100€ to 150.

Appart from that, they decided to allow only 1 device per account (2 if connected to same IP), so bye to account sharing.

This first half of the season has been lovely, F1 TV pro is an amazing service and I have enjoyed the live comentary, the multi viewer and all that live data, but this comes to an end.

From now on ill just pirate F1 and watch it online anywhere, I give up on trying to enjoy this sport legally and just being hit with obstacles and abusive prices.

Hope one day, local licenses and distribution are gone forever, they just destroy this sport

Same seems to be happening for me with Surfshark

I was trying to look at some onboards from Hungary today and ran into the same issue. Seems that they’ve strengthened their tracking theough the app of phones. It still works for me on my computer though which is good.

There is a solution. Have a look at controld.com and all your problems will be solved and it’s more cost effective then a VPN. Also was a expressvpn user and switched today. Works perfectly

Same with cyber ghost, and PIA. I also tried a direct VPN to family members private home ip and reset all cookies by using a new browser instance but still they managed to detect and give me a restricted country error when I was about to pay.

Surfshark, Proton, TunnelBear, Ghost, ExpressVPN. These are all the ones I’ve tried so far and have the same error. Either they banned my account or somehow blocked every VPN IP.

Damn, and my annual membership just renewed. Lame. Anyone know of another reliable streaming service besides F1TV that will show the race life and replays? I’m in Hong Kong.
