The issue with that is that vpns can be used for cheating or matchmaking manipulation. Which is why they issue the ban rather then issue a warning. Yes I agree it would make more sense to warn the player however I can see why they don’t

When I accidentally try to launch a game of MW2 with my VPN on cuz I forget to turn it off (I use split tunneling now to avoid that) I would notice almost right away cuz my ping when searching for a game would start out at 200 and it would never find a match. When I’d close the game out and fire it back up without the VPN on it’d be back at pinging around 24 starting out

Wrong. A VPN is infallible and should not be considered a complete cybersecurity strategy. A VPN masks your location and your i.p. / search / web traffic / data being seen by your ISP or others amongst other things. So if someone is using an i.p. sniffer in a lobby (concerning games) they will NOT be able to data flood a person using VPN and boot you. There are other things but I will keep it simple for you since you don’t understand what a VPN does or how it actually works.
