Why is FF Sync blocking VPNs?

update: I reconnected my VPN a few times and it started working again. But I’m wondering if “sync” doesn’t tell you if it can’t connect, if the only error I’m seeing is from the login. Also, fyi, rich edit on ff/Reddit doesn’t work.

I’m suddenly finding that Sync isn’t working on any FF instance that’s running through my VPN. This is new. I tried to logout/in and there’s a server error on those instances (but not otherwise):

The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.

Please try again in 30 seconds.

File a bug report on Bugzilla to ask them to unblock your VPN provider.

Same problem here, I can’t login to my firefox account on my new phone
