I noticed with each upgrade, browsing with VPN became slower and slower. It’s now at a point of unusable. It’s takes literally minutes for some pages to load. I use Opera for the built-in VPN feature. I use the browser for work and want to use the VPN feature for privacy when browsing personally. I’ve ensure I’m using optimal locations, cleared cache and all the rest following the wiki, but nothing seems to help. I cannot install the pro VPN version on the companies’ machine. Any other ideas to get back to normal speeds and performance?
Edit: Using an M3 Mac. Hardware acceleration is on. Cleared all data, history, cookies, etc.
The free proxy (not VPN depsite being called a VPN) is located where their HQ is at, they dont have a full datacenter dedicated to hundreds of people. You are sharing a connection with the free version. So it can be slower or faster depending on the usage of the people.
Yup, I’ve noticed that but not that extreme as yours. Mine is like 3mbps and have troubles with live streaming but for other stuff is just enough. It definitely was faster some time ago
From my side, it used to be 5 mbps downstream. It’s now 3.3 mbps.
Good to know. Thank you. I guess it’s great that more people are using the product. Hoping we see a day when they charge a premium for the in-browser VPN/proxy service since it has a use case and isn’t as cumbersome than installing VPN software on a desktop/laptop.
I’m trying to figure out why there aren’t many more posts about this. Is it a GEO related thing. I see others saying to disable the VPN, but that’s the whole reason I’m using the browser. And it seems like there are no ways to improve it. I can’t get some sites to load at all. Turn off VPN and all is normal with no latency.
I’d take 3.3 over this… https://imgur.com/a/Ukne6Dc
Off VPN give 550Mbps … Just absurd.
