Vpn disconnecting when I use tivimate

Ok so I did post a few months ago but the issue has returned n it’s driving me nuts. Most times when I load up tivimate on my firestick my vpn disconnects, I have the green dot kill switch and what happens is after a minute of selecting a channel the green dot disappears, then after 30-60 seconds it reappears red most of the time and sometimes green, if it’s red then I check ipvanish app and I’m not connected.

Now I tried nordvpn so see if it’s ipvanish issue but the same thing happened. I tried iptv smarters and the issue never occurs so it must be tivimate. I had the issue a few months ago then somehow it stopped but now it’s back and I’m thinking it’s my provider as I switch every month and I’m thinking it may have started again soon after I changed provider.

Like I said earlier it doesn’t always go red but it’s say 50/50. I asked the developer for help but he said ‘Sorry I don’t know’ .

Anyone any ideas, I’ve tried playing around with settings etc

I am a android user, but how do you see that your VPN kill switch turn red while you are inside tivimate? Do you have a VPN connection icon in the corner of the screen or something?

I have a budget Android box and I have problem with DNS leaks so I have to do this every time I start up my device

1 start VPN - connect
2 go to device network settings - > reset DCHP
3 go to VPN again, CHANGE location
4 verify if VPN works go to a DNSleak website
5 if it looks good - use device as usual.

If I DON’T do it this my VPN will leak dns in the background even tho kill switch is ON and VPN says I’m connected.

But this is for android so I’m not sure how it works on firestick

I have been using IPvanish and Tivimate for years and never had this problem. I sometimes find Tivimate won’t display any channels or that VOD doesn’t work but simply changing the server country from England to Ireland or France always fixes this and i suspect that issue is related to my provider rather than IPvanish or Tivimate. I really don’t know why you had that problem when you used IPvanish. It should have worked fine with Tivimate.

I’m tending to lean towards it being a provider issue. If you would like to rule your provider out then PM me and i can help you eliminate that possibility if you want.

I noticed that I can’t use vpn with TiviMate, the channels refuse to play. VLC and Iptv Extreme no problem.

I tend to have the issue with nord sometimes. Ive started turning vpn on then leaving it on the nord app for a few minutes before switching to tivimate. It seems to have helped but might be coincidence. Worth a try.

Rarely use VPN, but when I do, it’s IP Vanish and never have any problems.

What about low space/memory on the Firestick? Have you tried running BlueStacks on a PC with IP Vanish running on the same PC? Would help to rule out Firestick problems.

Do you mean the vpn safely dot.

It is another app that visually displays the status of the VPN connection.

I’ll give it a try, bit of a pain doing it every time thou I’m sure

I don’t have a pc at the moment so can’t try it

Yes, it’s strange why it disappears for 30-60 seconds, if I just disconnect vpn myself it automatically turns red and when I connect vpn myself it automatically turns green so why does it disappear for that minute or so

Someone told me they had the same problem but used surfshark and it worked without disappearing. Red means not connected. Green connected. I would give that a go.
