Very high CPU usage in Windows 10 since upgraded PIA to v3.5.3-07926

Very high CPU usage in Windows 10 since upgraded PIA to v3.5.3-07926.

When bittorrent is downloading files (even just one file), the CPU usage for pia-wgservice.exe will shoot up to over 65%, or as high as over 80% if there are multiple files being downloaded by the bittorrent client. This does not just happen occasionally, but it happens consistently.

Prior version v3.5.1-07760 did not have this problem.

Please help!

I’m running the exact same build on Win 10 Pro. Using WireGuard with sustained upload speeds of ~350 Mbps and pia-wgservice.exe is using ~13% cpu with no spikes.

I use Windows 10 Pro with PIA WireGuard option too, and before upgrading to the new version the pia-wgservice.exe used about 10% cpu when bittorent was downloading at max available PIA VPN server speed.

Now, no matter at what download speed, could be just one file at 100 kb/s speed, pia-wgservice.exe would use over 65% of cpu consistently. Something is very wrong with the current version of PIA app.

I’m curious what max speeds you are seeing when using PIA that is only using ~10% cpu. When I’m maxing out my connection my 2nd gen i5 cpu is in the upper 90’s. I’m not sure the exact cpu value for pia-wgservice.exe but I’m sure it’s quite high.

I have downgraded PIA to the prior version. I am not downloading anything now, when I do, I will jot down the speed and CPU usage and let you know.
