I upgraded to a new Samsung S23+ in August. Since then I have received error messages saying “Something’s wrong. Visual voicemail will not load” or something close to that. I tend to ignore voicemail anyhow so I didn’t urgently address it. I did try to resolve it on my own. I tried everything. I finally broke down and went into the Verizon store in town to see if they could figure it out. The fellow there spent over an hour on the phone with the technical department (actually getting to tier 2 technical support). What we eventually figured out on our own, was that the DuckDuckGo VPN was blocking the voicemails. After we disabled the VPN, voicemails worked again. Am I alone with this experience?
Do you leave mobile data enabled? Visual voicemail only worked when I had data on, not even wi-fi would work. Can’t speak for the VPN itself, I use PIA and haven’t had that issue.
I have ExpressVPN and the same issue. Voicemail doesn’t work well with VPNs. I had to enable split tunnelling.
