Happening to me right now. Livestreamer isn’t helping at all either. Playing on Medium and still getting buffering every 2-3 seconds
Just came here (from N Michigan) to see if other people are having issues too.
Charter?
Same here, from Michigan, having issues with buffering and also use Charter. Looks like it’s on Charter’s end then. Ah well.
Mid Michigan here, also having buffer issues.
Pugget when will you guys have a fix for Australian Optus customers. I’ve haven’t been watch any stream without buffering very 5 seconds. Yet i can watch youtube at 4k no problem.
Anything about TWC? I have time warner and constantly buffer as I wrote in the OP. This has been going on for a while now.
This doesn’t just affect Charter customers. It’s across all providers and is a Twitch issue.
I had surfeasy VPN installed on my mac and gave that a try. The stream I am watching now is working just fine. I only get 1GB per month from Surfeasy so I can’t possibly use that for every stream. How do I go about getting them to fix this? If I called TWC support and told them about this they would have no idea what to do.
I tried disabling VPN mid stream and the stream did not buffer at all so maybe TWC isn’t the issue?> VPN
I haven’t been having buffering problems lately. I don’t know why because I haven’t changed anything. I have noticed that I can not change the quality of the streams though
It’s Twitch. It’s happening to viewers regardless of their ISP.
Charter here and I’m having issues.
Alpena, MI checking in. Also having buffering issues.
This is a very old thread, and as such I will respond within the current context. It is incorrect that there are general issues currently; most ISPs and their viewers are not having issues. We keep per-provider stats, and it’s very clearly particular providers that are affected by the current spate of buffering, and those providers mostly have a common thread: they do not connect directly to us. There are no Charter issues at this time, as this maintenance was complete 24 days ago.
You will properly have to call a few times. (Be a perstitant little pest to them) ask to speak to their technical department. Tell them that you feel getting throttled for services like twitch.tv . tell them you tried a VPN and can confirm they are indeed throttling. If they dont comply tell them that they will get added to googles list over ISPs that throttle (damage their reputation). (That is a last resort)
Heh, 2 months later and I reply GG me, seems to be stable now though, but Twitch being Twitch so yeah :3
i am also midwest… yay charter!
I switched providers and I’m still having trouble. It works better now but I still can’t watch it on Safari. I’m not sure why but twitch just might not play nice with Safari
also charter and having issues…
Been working for me for a while. No idea about Safari though as I’m not a Mac user
