Thank you Proton for making the app natively work on Google Chromecast with Android.

I turned on my Chromecast on Christmas day to find the ProtonVPN app icon had changed. I thought that’s strange.

I proceeded to launch the app and to my surprise it has been redesigned for Android TV.

This is a great Christmas present and now means I no longer have to use 3rd party apps to launch a Proton VPN connection and employ work arounds to get it to work.

I requested this feature not to long ago in a previous post.

This is fantastic.

I can only hope you continue to develop the app further to include more features but this is a great start.

You made my Christmas. Many thanks.

Keep up the good work.

Merry Christmas  Feel free to share feedback on your experience with the Android TV app so far!

Do we have an update for :laptop: with M1?! Pls

Does this mean that you can cast stuff while connected to vpn?

If you don’t have the Android TV app installed, you can indeed cast while connected to ProtonVPN on your device, but note that it will only display your regular phone UX (i.e. it will not be optimized for TV). If you do have the Android TV app installed on your TV, you won’t be able to cast at all. However, you can then simply use VPN from the native Android TV app and stream as you normally would.

Don’t know you would have to try it. I never cast stuff but you might. I can ftp to my home server if it has VPN running through my home WiFi.
