So virtually every I game I’ve played for the last 2+ decades chat has been opened with T… I type and I press ENTER to send it. This has also been the case for Darktide until the last 3 nights. I can no longer chat… Chat is still T in control bindings. There’s no ENTER anywhere in control bindings so I’m assuming it’s the default for confirming a message. Looked in interface, audio, hud, everywhere, not tried any new mods… What is going on?

The game chat can break, but I’ve found restarting fixes it. Has the issue persisted past restarting the game?
You are running software that is prioritising their own enter (or T) input over Darktides.
This can be a media player, or a vpn.
Do you use any customization software for peripherals like Logitech’s Ghub or ROG’s Armoury Crate, Corsair’s iCue or whatever Razer’ software is called?

If so wouldn’t it be something that I’ve inadvertently setup in the last 3 days then? I’ve had the same VPN for a long time and never used any hotkeys with it. I’ve not used media player in like a decade (I know it was just an example) I can’t think of any programs that have changed on my PC though in quite a while.
Hello appreciate the reply. I believe I have a couple of these things but not actually sure if I’m “using” them or not per se. I have a logitech gaming mouse. I’ve had the Armoury Crate thing in task manager processes for a few years but never been sure what it was, I thought something to do with security, I’ve had both of these for the entirety I’ve had Darktide though. I’ve used Razer software in the past, I uninstalled it all about 2 years back but it still shows up in processes but again it’s been there the whole time I’ve had Darktide and I’m only now having issues with chat.

If it started 3 days ago, something changed.
Try disabling the vpn and any recent other programs running in the background.
The vpn doesnt need any hotkeys to disrupt chat.
I was affected by this same ‘bug’ in early months, and after solving it, i looked into it with several other people with the same issue, and we started solving it case by case.
and for every single one of them it was due to other software on their pc. Sometimes it’s hard to find but as you’re already saying you’re using a vpn that’s most likely it.
Simply running a Vpn was the most common issue.
Maybe it updated recently.
That’s super weird, but reason I asked is that I’ve had random issues with software like that where they would mess with my game controls. Like Logitech Ghub is supposed to switch profiles when you launch a supported game, but sometimes it doesn’t do that so if I have my controls customized only in Logitech’s software, they don’t work in the game if the program doesn’t load the profile. Sometimes it’s an update that breaks it. And I had to get rid of Armoury Crate entirely since it was conflicting with Ghub and SignalRGB.
