Slow Internet speed on Android

Hi,

Sorry if this already was asked, but when I’m using the Mullvad VPN on Android (I’m using ONE UI 5 beta on S22+ with Mullvad latest beta), the speed is much lower, like 200~250Mbps when I’m on wifi in a 500Mbps network.

This doesn’t happen on my Windows 11 machine and on my girlfriend Iphone 13, they are connected to the same server as my Android and get full speed.

I already tried using the wireguard and openvpn apps, with no success, the download speeds are also low.
What can I do to improve my speed on Android?

Thank you

I’ve been having the same issue on Android, regardless of the server I choose it maxes at around 80 Mbps download (compared to my normal ~250 Mbps without the VPN) and usually is lower to the point that I can’t even load websites or chat services. This just started happening to me a couple days ago (OnePlus 9, Mullvad app version 2022.1).

Why do you need over 200Mbit on Android? Just greed and the will to get the best of it can be? You can stream 4K live out of barely 100mbit. And you don’t have a seedbox on your Android. So just chill and enjoy without making us solve theoretical issues.

Here are some tips you can try.

Yeah, sometimes I notice slow loading. When I’m on wifi, it’s fine most of the time but when I change to mobile data, I notice the slow loading times and it gets annoying fast.
I emailed support to try to get some info.

I’m just trying to figure out if there’s anything wrong with my setup. I’m not asking anyone to solve my problem, just to point me to the right direction.
I think asking for help or opinions is not a crime, if you don’t want to help or if you think my question is worthless, simply ignore it.
But thank you for the reply anyway, have a nice day
