Should my location be accurate with a VPN?

I’m a noob at VPN’s, I turned on my vpn on iOS, turned off location services, and typed into google, “where am I” and it returned with my exact location.

Thinking this was due to GPS, I tried on my MacBook Pro, it also returned my exact location. Shouldn’t my VPN cause it to think my location is wherever I’m connecting to via the vpn?

Google has your location from your phone. Go to any number of “what is my IP” websites and the geolocation map won’t be at your location.

Use a site like https://ipleak.net to check VPN location. This won’t use your GPS, cookies or account login data.

I think it relied on your history, cookies or something. I’ve just tried mine and it has returned the location of VPN server since this is the first time I allowed Google to access my location.

Even if you weren’t using a VPN, your location would only be approximate, not exact. IPs are only roughly correlated with location. Your phone is giving you away.
