This may not be the right sub for a post like this so forgive me if it’s not.
I was wondering on your thoughts on ProtonVPN v RiseUpVPN. On this post OP goes into excruciating detail and RiseUpVPN gets a better overall score. But I’m dabbling with Proton now because I’d like mobile protection too.
But just in general, unless you’re European, ProtonVPN will typically be slower than competing services. They have fewer servers, there’s no getting around that.
On the flip side, Proton has an incredible reputation, and in my opinion is the most trustworthy company in the sphere.
Not it easy to find it but it does have good feedback be that limited feedback personally I can not compare it to proton as its paid via free and experience normally dictates that if your not paying for the product you are the product
I have encountered this problem on cellular data only in office premises. Other places secure core rocks while data speeds are good. And I am not in Europe:joy:
Thanks for the response. Yeah I noticed on cellular data it’s much slower than on WiFi. Almost unusable. So maybe some other service for cellular data. I was hoping for a service I could use on my phone and MacBook.
Many thanks good sir. I can’t believe I overlooked that page haha. Well thanks for being objective and facilitating the conversation. I’m actually testing Proton out now and like it so far. So let’s see how things unfold.
FYI I’m not affiliated or associated with that OP. I’m just referring to it is a tool I’ve found. Feel free to refer me to something else. Contrasting views are good.
I think that’s because our office have really thick walls which results non really slow data connection even when not on VPN. I don’t understand the concept of having them but yeah they are there and not going anywhere
The RiseupVPN is a free service, founded by donations, and because there is juste a very little amount of donations, there is a every little quantity of servers.
Yeah to be honest I was planning on getting the basic plan I’m still gauging my committment to VPNs. I was here before and tapped out last time because of the hit to speed. I’m not in Europe.
