Proton VPN being enabled 24/7 on phone

I don’t suffer higher battery usage. But I do have it always on.

24/7 with killswitch enabled. Works fine.

It is practically useless. If you have almost any app on your phone, enough personal information about you is already being shared with any servers those apps connect to. What is the point of having a VPN on a phone? The only thing it lets you do is unlock region-locked content, but these days even Netflix and the like are catching up this and wouldn’t let you through with a simple VPN.

Same here. It’s your own choice, OP. Whatever suits you best. I have it running 24/7 with split tunneling enabled.

+1, but with no kill switch, because I have to exclude some apps/services that don’t like VPNs.

Will this affect or take any info from the apps you are using if you only use it once then you delete from your phone is this still active after deleting the app

Well sometimes it is!

How do you enable economy mode for one app?

How do you install it on a router? I have a netgear router if that helps.

Alright thanks for the reply!

Yea my hotspot dosnt work with my vpn on

Barely over here. Almost not noticeable.

Also, it’s hard to measure. If you have Netshield on, it will block ads, which saves battery.

Yea some websites for me are blocked. I believe it’s because they block all vpn ips.

It is practically useless.

No it isn’t.

What is the point of having a VPN on a phone? T

One example would be to hide your traffic from your ISP, who might be obliged to log it all.

There is split tunnelling on iPhone???

Sorry I don’t understand your question.

call to 911:

- halp haaalp my both legs are openly broken!! ARRIVE ASAP! HELP!! I AM BLEEDING

- sir try to relax and tell me your address

- HOW DARE YOU?! IT’S PRIVATE! I’ll crawl to the central train station. Meet you there.

You’ll likely need to install pfSense or another third-party firmware. From that point, Proton’s got some good documentation.

your owners manual should provide instructions on how to do that, if your model has the ability to have a VPN installed on it; not every router has that feature

Just beware that the VPN will not change the location info. Nevertheless I keep it on 24/7
