Hi all, im just wondering if I should keep Proton VPN enabled all the time on my iPhone. I have unlimited data, but should I only use it when connected to my ISP or all the time even with data for privacy.

You ask ‘if you should connect only if you’re connected to your ISP’, the only moments you’re not connected to ‘your ISP’ is on public networks, or when you connect at someone else’s WIFI network, because that’s when you’re connected to ‘someone else’s ISP’. However it doesn’t really matter who’s ISP you are connected to, if you want improved privacy you should connect always. Especially when it’s ‘not your ISP’.
I did use it 24/7. Here are the problem I found:

install it on your router, so your entire network is protected 24/7 when you are home with no battery drain…
I put it 24/7 all the time.
Considering your cell carrier not only does the usual snooping that any ISP does, but also sells your location data to brokers, the least amount of info you give them the better.
Always on, wifi or cellular.
Has anyone had an issue with having the VPN on and connecting to a laptop or apple car play? It won’t connect for me unless I turn it off. Haven’t found another way around it. It’s weird because it just started happening a couple months ago.
Keeping VPN on 24/7 will have some battery drain on your phone
always on unless i need to download smth that the vpn slows the process of or if i need to access a website that blocks the vpn (cough genius.com cough)
I did this for Youtube Argentina but did not geo-check the IP. After three days or some Youtube send me the mail that my account will be moved from Brazil to the USA.
So keep that in mind. Any paid subscription may geo-check, even if you bought it in your country.
I use it 24/7 with a server in my city so the speed stays relatively fast, but with net shield on and secure core off.
I use it 24/7 with no problems at all I like it along with the other proton apps as well giving me a good feeling of security and don’t feel that it really drains my battery all that much either that’s on a zfold 5 .
Always on but I have noticed slower loading if I switch to secure core.
I have it on but there are some apps that will not work if on, the bank app is one…

I keep the VPN always on but the only problem is the battery usage that is quite high
I leave mine on 24/7. Like others have said battery drain can be an issue but I usually carry a small battery bank with me anyways so it’s not too big of a deal for me.
