I have enabled “allow access to local network” in my express VPN app on my Mac already, but whenever I turn my VPN on, my Mac disconnects from my AVP.
Any other way to get around this? This is major reason why I don’t use my AVP in a cafe because I need VPN on when using public wifi etc
Maybe get a GL.iNet pocket travel router and use it to connect to cafe WiFi, establish your VPN link (via that gizmo) and rebroadcast WiFi to Mac/iPhone/AVP. That way all your devices are on same (fast, dedicated) subnet with all external traffic going over VPN? Just a thought. I do this all the time when traveling and it works great. Unit is size of deck of cards and can be powered by Mac USB port (or any another USB power supply). I often leave the gizmo in my bag and connect to USB power bank to avoid clutter. Small battery lasts many many hours
