My VPN location is in the US, why does google think I'm in Singapore?

The google text and search results are in Malay. It thinks I’m in Singapore or Indonesia. How do I change it?

IP address blocks get transferred around increasingly nowadays. Assuming your provider has their exit node actually in the US, then Google’s database is out of date (e.g. an SG block got transferred to US).

It is because more people in Singapore have used this VPN and/or the VPN IP address you are currently on and they have/had set their preference in Google to be Singapore (you may be sharing the same IP address with someone in Singapore right now!)

Now Google thinks this IP address wants to be shown information for Singapore, even through it is entirely in a different country.

QQ are you, in fact, in Singapore?

There are three results, NYC, LA and Chandler, Arizona.

How do I get the results closer to home and in English?

How do you mean? Does your IP address change when you refresh the browser?

Nope. It stays in the same Malay language.

That worked! It was on English but then when I clicked on it, a message came up saying “some (something) is not in English,” I clicked change it, and the search results are now all in English. Thanks!

Yes. All 3 show the same location.
