Kill switch/ Auto-connect feature (Android TV & Firestick)

Hi all,

I left Proton a few months ago after my IP kept getting exposed whilst using Nvidia Shield (android) and Firestick.

I was told a kill switch feature (which would have prevented my IP from being exposed) was being worked on alongside an auto connect feature, this is the only thing that made me leave as it wasn’t secure enough.

I always said I’d come back once this is implemented, so the question is do we have it available yet?

the nvidia shield app does not have a kill switch feature yet.

it doesn’t support profiles like i only want to connect to US servers even if i am in other parts of the globe.

You can’t even choose the servers… it someone always wants to connect to the closest fastest vpn.

solution to mitigate this is to use a router and configure the router

^^^old thread but I’m curious how close this is too being available as of yet on fire stick their is no auto connect/kill switch and has me considering other options. I would like to help get family set up with fire stick and Kodi but need another option for vpn that does have those features.
Love protonvpn and would recommend. Other proton services as well make it great would just really like to see the autoconnect and killswitch >.<

I guess this is something they are going to have to improve on pretty soon, told its on a big list but NOT a priority which is quite disappointing.

NordVPN has access to a kill switch for Android TV/Google TV.
