Hey, I thought it’s common because Screenshot-20181216-191928-01 hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB but then this user said he gets full speed: https://www.reddit.com/r/seedboxes/comments/a6n0j9/comment/ebwq5yf
If any seedhost users are here, can you please confirm for me? Thanks!
That’s not true. While VPN will be slower, OpenVPN’s “limit” is not 10Mb/s. I just did a speedtest with PIA using OpenVPN and got 56Mbps/23Mbps.
Just curious, how do you test your seedbox speeds?
Maybe it’s because of the way they have configured their OpenVPN.
its all about internet speed, cpu strenght (if AES 256 encryption) and then TAP divers cap at 250mbs.
Yes. When I setup that VPN on my PC/mobile 6 months ago I got similar speeds (I don’t use it but since I have access to it, might as well have it ready).
There’s a Speedtest cli package too. It’s written in python.
I guess you can do it via SSH and some test files but that was me connecting to the VPN from my home PC and testing the speeds.
Yea that maybe true but the way the screenshot has it they are putting the blame on OpenVPN.
Mb/s = Mbps = Megabits per second
MB/s = MBps = Megabytes per second
MiB/s = MiBps = Mebibytes per second
So, you aren’t getting above 10mbps through their open VPN right?
I did try asking them: Screenshot-20181216-201216-01-01 hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB but I didn’t get a reply and my ticket was closed, they’re the best seedbox with SSH for my budget(7euro/month),so I didn’t mind and I’m using proton VPN free version now.

Btw. I have a higher shared tier for 65€/month and my OpenVPN is limited to 10Mbps Down/15Mbps Up as well. So tier doesn’t matter.
Okay, so the support was right.
Oh, it doesn’t make sense though, maybe because they don’t want people to abuse bandwidth.
Edit: Instead they could have given proper VPN and counted bandwidth in bandwidth quota instead.
