Is there a way to use split tunneling with apps aside from the four default browsers?

It’s kinda weird that only four browsers support the split tunneling feature. The VPN messes with an MMO I’m playing, so I’d like to exclude that, but I can’t seem to.

Yes, you can also use split tunneling on Windows and Android Proton VPN apps: https://protonvpn.com/support/protonvpn-split-tunneling/.

Keep in mind, regardless of which apps you include or exclude, all will use the VPN’s DNS. Secondly, try a reverse split tunnel (Only include…), which excludes everything apart from the apps you choose to include and route through the VPN.

Not sure what you mean by, only four browsers.

I use network namespaces on Linux. Then you can launch any program you want in the same network namespace as your protonvpn and that’s the only network (routes, DNS servers etc.) that they can see.

I dont use VPN for Games, game launcher etc. But split tunneling if i surf with my browser.

:man_facepalming: I’m dumb. I wasn’t able to scroll down to the bit that showed the “Add App” option 'cause the scrollbar in the “APPS:” section took priority, making me think that there were no further options.

Definitely my fault, but I feel like it’d be slightly better UX if the “APPS:” scrollbar didn’t take priority when you’re scrolling through until you stop scrolling for a quarter of a second or so.

Regardless, thanks for the quick help!

Yeah, my bad. The “APPS:” section took control of my scroll, making me think that there were no further options. Didn’t see the “Add App” button so I thought I was limited to the default browsers already in the list (Chrome, IE, Edge, FF).

Only speaking of the desktop app here, you can include/exclude other apps, including different browsers. I’ve successfully used split tunnel with Brave, Firefox, and Edge Chromium.

I did a double-take when I read Netscape Navigator, but you got me there!
