Is the ProtonVPN safe version good for downloading movies? I use a browser and I’m worried if my isp can see my activity

I use a browser and I’m worried if my isp can see my activity.

Proton VPN has a strict no logs policy that you can read about here. Using a VPN is a good way to prevent your ISP from seeing your activity. You can read more about that in this article here. Also, if you’re truly concerned about your privacy, you can also use the Tor network – we offer a service that you can use Tor over our VPN. Read more about that here.

Use Real Debrid if you’re that concerned.

Where are you downloading these movies from?

If you’re using peer to peer with a torrent client they will be able to see it, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t safe. Depending on your ISP and laws in your location, you could be perfectly fine but if you’re in non torrent friendly areas and your ISP complies with complaints you might at worse have your internet shut off or suspended.

Maybe try reading up on others experience with torrents in your area. As far as I know, as long as you’re not in North America and harsh restricted areas (and some parts of Europe) they will not care at all.

A VPN is ok for torrents but look for proxy servers dedicated to p2p instead or even better, get a seed box. Those are way cheaper than a standard vpn service and are much quicker.

If you are getting a movie through a streaming site (anything using your browser, most Android apps, etc) then they won’t be able to do anything as it is encrypted through https so at most they will see the website.

Let me know if you have any questions, I’ve been doing this for decades.

I had one of their highest end plans and even paying that much money it was in kilobytes most of the times. Every time I brought this issue up to them they blame the location I was using. The second part is that you can’t truly purchase this plan anonymous last time I checked unless you mail cash which I do not recommend. They are becoming one large ecosystem very much like google and I see that as an issue. You also have to check because I think that with some locations / countries they don’t allow p2p traffic. You can try IVPN and use brave to download so avoid p2p but I think that using an encrypted p2p app such as transmission will give you better security. As I always tell everyone do research on what I have just said just in case I made a mistake. best luck to you friend

I was planning on using Safari to get a movie. But it’s a browser. So guess it means I’m safe lol

I am confused, what did they plan the location for? Did you receive warning from your ISP/local regulator, if so which IP address was listed?

You can absolutely purchase a plan anonymously using cryptocurrencies if you so wish. (or some virtual cards, which I doubt your ISP would care to check for movies)

Using a VPN isn’t a fullproof, your IP address might still get leaked. I suggest you use https://ipleak.net/ through your torrent client and your VPN to make sure only the VPN IP appears. (I remember QBittorrent leaking my address while Transmission didn’t)

As far as I know ProtonVPN does not answer to most copyright infringement request. As a Swiss company (and that’s something that is pretty unique to Switzerland), they are not required to answer to foreign agencies in these aspects.

In fact from my (possibly limited) knowledge, most agencies won’t even bother sending requests to VPNs or VPSs providers.

Alright, I’m using it. I only need it for like 10 more episodes of demon slayer.
