I was looking at tutorials for how to share a VPN over wifi on Mac. Most are for VPNs like ExpressVPN which just automatically appear in the dropdown box to allow to share over wifi. I then found tutorials to connect with L2TP/IPSec, but now I’ve just read that OpenVPN is not compatible with IPSec, IKE, PPTP, or L2TP.
I haven’t found any useful information of how to do this on Google. Maybe it’s not possible?
Is there a way to share the VPN over wifi on a mac? Ultimately, I want to use the VPN on a Nintendo Switch so if there’s another method entirely, that would be good to know. 
Edit: Extra question; I have an option for IKEv2, is that different to IKE? Will that work?
Edit2: I just tried IKEv2, and it hasn’t worked ( “A configuration error occurred.”) but I’ve been putting in the DDNS address for the ‘server address’ and ‘remote address’, and also for ‘username’ under ‘Authentication Settings’, and I’m not sure that’s right. I’m doing this by adding a new network interface by clicking the ‘+’ on Network Settings by the way.
You mean your Mac has a connection to a remote VPN server and you want other devices in your home to use this VPN connection as well?

Another option would be to check if your router has support for OpenVPN. You could make this your client and all devices connecting to it would automatically use the tunnel.
Yes, I have OpenVPN and ProtonVPN (either will be fine to get working) on my Mac, and I want to use the VPN on a Nintendo Switch. The link you shared got me excited because it looked as though I could just share my Wifi without setting up a VPN interface like I had been trying. But, on those options, I can’t share Wifi over Wifi. There is options for Bluetooth and Ethernet, but the Switch needs to be paired by Wifi only.
My router doesn’t have settings to be used with VPN, so I was hoping there was another way.
Some routers let you connect to a vpn and then all the devices connected to that router will go thru the vpn.
