Hi all
New to VPNs and having some issues with my iPhone even after searching around. All works fine on Mac and iPhone but when I’m on mobile data on my iPhone, Nord just won’t connect. I’ve reinstalled the app, turned off and on again etc. It’s all fine on my Wi-Fi networks but just won’t connect whilst I’m on mobile data. iPhone 12 all up to date.

Is it possible your carrier is blocking VPN access?
Go into settings and choose OpenVPN UDP as the connection protocol. Then go back to the screen where you can choose a server. Go into specialty servers, then click the 3 dots next to Obfuscated and choose a region you want to connect to.
If it works now, then it means your carrier is probably blocking access to VPNs and you will have to use Obfuscated servers to connect.
I’m not an expert on this stuff, but you might also be able to get some positive results by changing your DNS settings, though it depends if you are using Apple Private Relay or not.
If you’re using Private Relay, then the settings say that changing the DNS would disable it.
If you are not using Private Relay, then you can try using 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 as the DNS.

It doesn’t seem to be a network thing as the first half of your help didn’t change the situation. Weird. I might reach out to Nord and see what they think. Thanks. Weird though as it works flawlessly on Wi-Fi. 
Ok so I just did what you told me to go through but instead of choosing openVPN I selected “use recommended” and it’s working!
Hmm use recommended should’ve been the default setting anyway. Kinda weird that it’s working now but at least its working lol
Btw you will want OpenVPN UDP if you ever plan on using Nord with a streaming service of any kind. The other protocols will get you identified as a VPN user and the streaming service won’t work until you change it.
Ok great to know thanks. If I’m steaming I’ll most likely be on Wi-Fi which had no issues previous to this. Thanks for all your help
