How to set up VPN on Starlink router? I can’t find the settings

I find it useful for remote desktop purposes. I’d rather VPN into my own network and then use VNC than to use something in the cloud (e.g. Team Viewer) that has access to my desktop.

Save what money. It’s a $900 kit you’d expect they’d add more shit to it instead of making you pay for separate hardware

That doesn’t exist in my app

But that’s just a VPN on your computer, we’re talking about a router based VPN designed to automatically route all of some traffic that it received.

It’s $600, and according to SpaceX they’re spending over $1000 to make them. Anything they do to keep that price down means less money they lose initially on every unit they ship. And it’s a subscription, I get it, but that still doesn’t lower the cost of getting a new customer by $400+

No, it’s a VPN server on my ASUS router that allows me to access my home network from the outside public internet as if I were at home. Once I’m connected to the router’s VPN server, I can VNC (locally) into any computer on the home network. I can also pretty much do anything on the home network, as if I were there.

In Australia in the package is $900 nearly a $1000+ when I ordered it back last year. For nearly a grand I expected Ethernet port to be built in not be sold separately like they do

I didn’t mean to say you can’t set it up this way, it’s definitely the most convenient, but if you’re just making connections from your computer to something on the VPNed network, it’s purely convenience since you can just take 5s and connect to the VPN, or even have it running all the time on your computer.
The special functionality of the router based VPN is allowing devices without VPN support like TV streaming boxes to be able to connect without hitting geofencing issues.

Mine cost AUD $450.00, plus two months free. Plus $60 for Ethernet adapter. Was incredibly good value.

We’re talking about the same amount of money, you just weren’t clarifying that you meant $AUD rather than USD….
So for my math above, the package costs more than $1500 AUD to make.

My router is a VPN server, not a VPN client. Sounds like you’re getting those two confused.

I see your confusion. VPN servers can be setup to just receive incoming connections, like your router is, or form point to point bridges with other VPN servers, which is what I assumed the OP was looking for, since the Starlinks don’t have external IP addresses you can connect to.
Does that make sense?
This sort of point to bridging would allow you to route some or all traffic that starts on your network through the VPN so everything looks like it’s coming from the other end of the VPN. It’s a great way to access things like Netflix from a smart TV where a direct connection would be geofenced.
