How to set up VPN on Starlink router? I can’t find the settings

How to set up VPN on Starlink router? I can’t find the settings.

You will need to bypass to a more capable router.

You don’t. You’ll need a second router.

You cannot configure a VPN on the Starlink Router. I use bypass mode into my own Router that I have more
Control over for my mesh Wi-Fi

You set up a VPN from your PC, Mobile phone or Firewall behind the Starlink, not the Starlink itself. Use Dialup VPN, it works flawless with Starlink!

you don’t…but you can load a VPN on all your devices

You can’t. But you can plug another router into the Starlink one and run it from there, or just run it on the device (phone/tablet/PC) connected to the Starlink router.

That’s the neat part… you don’t!

Check out tailscale. Free software that navigates starlinks CGNAT extremely well. Wireguard tunnel on the backend

Internet companies aren’t going to provide routers that allow this. They want your data.

I’m from Poland. We’ve got real cheap and good Internet. 1gbs fiber costs around 15$ a month. 15$ a month and 0.25$ for hardware ( 2 year contract)will also give you 4G/5G Internet in 98% of our country with 250GB or 750GB transfer limit respectively.

I’ve bought Starlink because taking my job into consideration I need unlimited transfer and good speeds. And I live quite remote.

But man I’ve got some intense feelings towards spending such amount of money on hardware and not being able to do anything about it.

AND YOU CAN BUY ANOTHER ONE IN THE SHOP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD

WHO EVEN THOUGHT THAT MAKING A ROUTER WITHOUT ETHERNET SLOT IS A GOOD IDEA

Use Zerotier instead. Don’t mess around with other routers it’s such a PITA

How do you use bypass mode on the starlink router?

Let’s say for other reasons you cannot download it to your computer let’s say sue to company policies how would I be able to add a vpn to my starlink so I could change the IP address to what I want it to be ?

+1 - Highly recommend Tailscale and the Subnet Router feature

More likely most people simply don’t want to route all their data over a VPN on their personal internet connection. Is this even a common function on most home routers?

The first version had ethernet built in, they dropped it probably due to lack of usage and to save a little money.
I think of it more as a that money is the cost of the modem with a built in router that’s very minimal. You want more functionality you get your own.

In the app Settings > Wi-Fi Configuration

Due not sue sorry for typo

It’s common on more expensive routers. If you want region locked content on your smart TV you have to go this route since you can’t download an app to your tv.
