I mean with like a VPN or something
Yeah you can try aVPN but we don’t know if the dating site will allow VPNs
Can I ask why? I don’t use dating apps but doesn’t it match people to your general location? I don’t believe your specific address is known and shared
If it thinks you are in another area, you’d get less appropriate matches
Why not just pay for their membership?
I’ve tried like two but they seemed like scams and didn’t actually work can you recommend one that actually would the site is bumble/tinder also if that helps
I basically live in the middle of nowhere and there’s a cap to how big you can make the distance of matches so I ran out of appropriate options awhile ago
What is your budget? free VPNs are not good and they’re not safe at all
I use proton VPN
Fair enough. Might be a bit tricky finding a match and explaining to them where you actually live
The issue with a VPN is that they have limited servers and the one you connect to might be hundreds of kilometers away, if not more. If the app thinks you are there and gives you a match, the other person will probably not like that you live so far away
If the app uses GPS to get your location you can try geo-spoofing. I haven’t used any of these methods without root access before so I don’t know if they work well but might be an option
Honestly I’d rather something free not really much point paying for the VPN when I could just pay the app to change my location if that makes sense? Like long as it works I’m not that concerned about safety for just a dating app you know
Yes, there’s the “tech” answer. Geo spoofing. The app takes the location from your GPS, so you need to spoof that. Changing your Internet connection with a VPN will do nothing as the phone will be offering up your real location which is what will be used.
Most apps block rooted devices that are needed for spoofing to prevent spam and bots. Most likely I’d say would be running it on BlueStacks which allows you to manually set the GPS location. I expect they attempt to block BlueStacks for the spam too, as I’m sure it’s what they use, but it is much harder to block.
Generally the answer is you pay. They have made it that way. Changing your location is a premium feature and they’ll do anything they can to get you to pay rather than be able to spoof around the $$ cost.
However, this isn’t really a tech question. The issue is “I don’t have any dates” not “I can’t spoof my GPS”. Spoofing your GPS might just get you a few matches who will then not be interested as you’ll be outside the location filter they have set.
The answer is to get some hobbies, join a tennis club or whatever, and make friends and meet new people. Sitting at home trying to get a GPS spoof to work on a dating app isn’t the answer.
Welp no luck I tried them didn’t get banned but they didn’t work at all
