Hello,I’m using N-ordVP-N app and watch stuff on Netflix from my desktop computer and phone.I’d like to do the same from the TV but there’s no version which would support it.
Even the LG’s web browser doesn’t support plugins and I can’t install other browsers…SmartDNS doesn’t work, the TV shows get blocked by Netflix and I get some proxy error.
Possible solutions I thought about:
- Set up VPN on router (but there’s no way to set specific country I want to connect)
- Is there, somewhere on the internet, something that could allow me to install incompatible applications on LG Smart TV? Something like Wine which lets Linux run Windows apps…
For some reason my previous post got immediately removed? Probably because of the topic containing a keyword? Nvm… it’s here now
If I remember correctly, you can choose region for the vpn on router. Nord using openvpn, so downloading the udp or tcp file from the region you want and set it up on your router.
Dont know if it is available on lg smart tv. But you might be able to mirror your desktop(playing netflix) and the lg smart tv.

A bit clunky but you should be able to set up your desktop as a virtual router and connect your TV through it?
I use firetv stick additionally and being android most mainstream VPN apps are available, meaning when I need my VPN (I use torguard), then I simply switch hdmi and watch Netflix, bbc etc via the firetv stick.
Thanks for the tip!
I didn’t know this was possible
