I live in a country where “Live TV” and “Shops” are disabled. Also the top part of home screen (where “featured videos” background is shown normally) is purely black backdrop with nothing on my home screen.
… that is, unless I enable VPN to USA and leave it enabled for maybe a few hours. Then these things all appear.
I like “Live TV” (have been watching quite a bit of the “Just for Laughs Gags” as of late). And I like the less dull “featured videos” background. So I just leave my VPN connected to USA all the time.
Does anyone else do that? And is there any other way to make “Live TV” appear for those of us that live outside of supported countries?
Most good vpn allows you to set apps that should tunnel. So they don’t use the vpn.
Then you can set up the ones that don’t need the vpn to skip it. And get better speed.
There’s also choice of using different apps.
Take a look here.
Yeah that’s why I paid for SurfShark, since some apps I have won’t work with the VPN set for US.
ProtonVPN worked great, free and had no data caps, but no option for bypassing.
I wasn’t sure what you meant by EPG, but I googled it, and it means electronic program guide.
I assume you’re referring to the Live tab?
If so, then I haven’t had any problems due to the VPN being on all the time. I don’t get the Live tab without it being on anyways, lol.
Sure the Google channels disappear sometimes but that’s a server side issue with Google which apparently affects the home screen sometimes as well, for many people occasionally.
I’ve always had a problem with the EPG loading the correct information or even loading at all on the premium version. That’s why unfortunately I don’t use a VPN but would like to start using it again if I can resolve this
