Hi, I’ve scoured the internet for a possible answer but doesn’t seem like much people are having similar issues.
When on Wi-Fi, my Disney plus app on my TV and app won’t work at all. It gets stuck on the Disney logo. However when I connect to mobile data it works absolutely fine.
I’ve contacted Disney and they do not have a fix or aware of issues like this and I’ve contacted my internet provider and again they don’t know what the issue is.
Any suggestions? I’ve tried all the basic troubleshooting. Deleting app and reinstalling. Clearing cache and data. Resetting router.
Can you run an Ethernet cable from your router to your television, even if only temporarily? There are a lot of possible causes here, many of them the responsibility of your ISP.
I spent over 2 hours with Disney tech support. The best they did was to tell me to contact my internet provider. But here is the thing
My internet speeds are phenomenal
2 my router is in the same room as the tv and phones with issues
Disney works on all devices with Roku sticks
4 Disney doesn’t work on the 2 smart samsung tvs that don’t have a Roku stick
We couldn’t log on via two different phones - one iphone and one galaxy unless we turned wifi off of the phones
6 we are getting an error code 73 which is “ not available in your area”
7 Again still loads on Roku devices in the same house with same wifi
My thought is because Disney is a part of Hulu and Roku, their own VPNs are blocking smart devices without Roku from loading. I finally got the Disney rep ( after two different ones) to write a help ticket to escalate it to a top tier issue. I was told it would be 3-5 days. They offered a $3 credit. . Walt Disney must be rolling in his grave at what Disney has turned into.
I have been working with Disney plus for the last three days and still not resolved. It tech just told me that she see there are others having the same issues. It’s something on there end that they have not yet resolved it. Originally, they didn’t see anyone else having the issue we are experiencing now. I’m with them now in the call.
Problem still ongoing… after having to reboot my router 5 times in 10 days, the only suggestion they had was to cancel my account and start a new one. Less than a month later, problem is back on the new account
Experiencing the issues now on mine, Samsung TVs and phone on Wi-Fi just stopped working… i have a whole home network and when it’s wired through that it doesn’t work, but when I connect direct to ISP it works fine. Not sure why all the sudden my home server would be messing it up.
I’m having the same issue and seems like a common theme is that it is on Samsung devices. I wonder if an update for the TV can be downloaded to fix it maybe… like others have said, all other devices work fine on WiFi. When I load up Disney on my computer, I have no issues.
