I’m confused, since Netflix have introduced their anti-password sharing policy which is done by checking your IP address, how does affect VPNs? I thought I read somewhere that you can only do this for two weeks, and then Netflix will start blocking you from it since you’ll use it to watch stuff from another country, or in your home country while abroad?
Never count on Netflix working with a VPN
A private/secret VPN will do.
you need a dedicated / private vpn for that. Are you only looking for a software dedicated vpn?
Why do you use Netflix and a VPN? (That’s rhetorical, I wanted to keep my streaming services to view new content like most people)
Once I realized streaming services didn’t like me using a VPN, I dropped all of them. No corporation is gonna tell me how i can use my phone even if I’m not doing anything nefarious.
They just furthered my cause by trying to tell me what I can’t do.
It still works. You can also check for all available content outside your country on https://streamfat.com/en-us/movies/netflix?offers_location=worldwide (choose other country if you’re not from US)
My experience was, yes you can use a VPN on Netflix on your device. But as soon as it’s casted, it sees your home router and the IP mismatch is noticed.
This was found out in the early days so how they monitor IP now is unknown to me.

Hey there!
I totally understand your confusion about VPNs and Netflix. It’s true that Netflix has been tightening their policies around password sharing and IP tracking, but good news! Not all VPNs are created equal, and some can still help you access your favorite shows and movies without issues.
Have you heard of ZongaSurf? It’s actually one of the best VPNs on the market right now, starting at just $2 a month! They offer a free trial, so you can test it out before committing.
ZongaSurf is fantastic because it’s really good at keeping users undetected, which is crucial for streaming Netflix effectively while bypassing those regional blocks. People have been having great success using it, even with Netflix’s new policies!
So if you’re looking for a way to keep your Netflix binge sessions going strong, definitely give ZongaSurf a try! It might just be the solution you need.
I’m clueless about VPNs… can you explain the technical differences between a VPN and a private/secret VPN? Does the private one require dedicated hardware? TY
Is it possible to bypass the data center IP ranges detection in private VPN?
The US server works on this on this one works great: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.secureconnections.quantumguard
Because Netflix has different content all over the world that won’t be available in your own region, and the main point of a VPN is to get around these global restrictions.
You mean, you dropped Netflix for torrenting?
There’s no real technical difference other than the location where the VPN server is running. Netflix and various other services knows of the blocks of IP addresses used in commercial VPN servers and will block them.
On the other hand there are private VPNs. I run a private wireguard server for example on my home router. When I’m traveling I use a travel router as a wireguard client to my home internet connection.
As far as Netflix is concerned it thinks I’m still streaming from my home address when in fact I’m halfway across the world. It knows my IP is a residential address so Netflix leaves me alone. I don’t think yet that Netflix is attempting to pull location details from devices connected to it in addition to IP location.
No, because IP addresses are publicly known by means of WhoIs.
This works with Netflix for sharing?
That might be your ultimate goal for using a VPN, but that isn’t mine.
I already had the “global restrictions” in mind. That’s why I said it was a rhetorical question.
I was just offering my 2 cents.
Or you know, they could base their region selection on your billing address instead of limiting VPN usage.
Honestly better of torrenting these days, those streaming corporations getting out of hand
