Can I change location with Asus router?

I’m looking to change my device location so I can get certain sports games that are out of my area. I have an Asus router Ax86u that has vpn servers (which I know little about) and I do not subscribe to any vpn providers. The router has a server list of PPTP, OpenVPN, IPSec VPN and Wireguard vpn. Am I able to change the location using what is on the router or would I have to subscribe to a VPN service provider? Are there any other simpler ways that I’m missing? Tia

You would need to subscribe to a VPN provider.

The servers it can run are for connecting to your home network remotely.

Take a look at ControlD DNS. You can spoof your location, and it can be easily set up in your Asus.

You can either use a service like Nord Smart DNS or a typical VPN service. ASUS supports frameworks you’d expect like OpenVPN.

That’s what I thought. Thanks for the response. Do you have any VPN providers that you recommend specifically for this?

Is this a VPN provider or something else?

Not a VPN, but ControlD is owned by a VPN provider. I don’t use the location feature, but I know that’s what many people use it for.
