Blocking Netflix and Disney+ Ads By Redirecting to Country Without Ads?

I’m wondering if anyone has tried to block Netflix and Disney+ ads (assuming you’re on a plan with ads) by redirecting traffic to a country that doesn’t show ads?

Russia has worked for YT and Twitter, but I haven’t tried it with any other services

Well for what it’s worth, I’m in the UK and use the service to block ads on Peacock and it works flawlessly, even though it took me far too long to actually discover it had an ab-blocking feature

I have a Disney+ plan with ads and don’t get any ads using only ad-blocking. Might not need to redirect traffic for this one.

I’ve tried it with Netflix once when I connected to Taiwan (ad supported plan is not offered there) in order to watch a show that’s only available there but got a pop-up saying I have to upgrade to an ad free plan to stream it.

I bought PC Matic computer security (one payment for lifetime computer security). they now give PC Matic adblocker for free. I do not have ads on hulu or disney plus (i bought the disney plus add version during black friday).

does that make all the menus an text in Cyrillic ?

How are you doing this?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Also just to confirm, you’re taking about the ControlD ad blocking not some other ad blocker installed on a PC or something like that, correct?

Go to Profiles then “Edit”. Choose “Filters” and enable the first option “Ads and Trackers”.

In your Profile, edit it and go to “Services” then “Video”.

Make sure Peacock is turned on. I’ve got mine diverted via New York if that makes any difference.

Just plain old DNS ad-blocking. I also used Pi-Hole and Firewalla built-in adblock and they Disney+ skipped all ads.
