I work in IT, and I’ve noticed many ATT Wireless customers report problems connecting to DTLS VPNs. I’ve taken packet captures that show that ATT intercepts the DTLS Client Hello; the response contains ATT Mobility’s MNC (410) and MCC (310).
There used to be an ATT forum where numerous customers reported issues with VPNs, and some even offered solutions, but the forums have recently been taken down. I was able to access the post titled “VPN throttled over ATT Air” less than a month ago, but now it’s been replaced with a page that says, supposedly unironically, “We’re still here for you / The AT&T Community Forums have closed.”
Does anyone know what’s going on with ATT, VPNs, and scrubbing the internet clean of complaints? Is ATT attempting to implement the Great Firewall in the US?
