There are no good reasons not to have everything available in every country in this day and age. I’m not jumping through tons of hoops to watch what someone says I’m not allowed to watch.

Agreed. I would be willing to let it slide if the pricing was different, but I pay literally the same subscription as those in USA and get to watch not even 50% of the content.
DVD is 480p crap quality. Why the hell would he resort to 480p when Netflix has 1080p.

Yeah DVD is 480 is which is not ideal, especially considering something as visually immersive/stunning as LOST.
I’ve seen all the making ofs and the extras long ago when I DID own the series on DVD - which I’ve since sold because I have nothing that plays DVDs either.
It’s also on Amazon Prime, for what it’s worth.
