As per the title, I’d like to know why Torguard is ditching paypal as a payment method, like others (or maybe just me) I don’t really like having my credit card stored online, no matter how, on a site / with a service plus paypal was convenient. Set and forget. Is this only for a short period of time, going to be replaced with another service or is it totally gone?
Yes I know there are other options to pay but as I said paypal was convenient for myself and it’s what I use.
After reaching out to their support though slow and they hardly answer my questions said it was because PayPal was stopping access to VPN’S due to being ‘risky’.
From reply on TorGuard forum, it is the other way round. Paypal is ditching TorGuard. No reason given.
I agree - convenient and secure. I will probably move to another provider when my renewal come up - even if it costs more.
PayPal is dumping many VPN/security service related companies because they do not want the liability and/or media companies does not want do business with PayPal if they accept payments from companies that circumvent the media companies services. As time goes on more VPN services with be dropped by PayPal (think of the media companies and the pressure they may be exhibiting to PayPal).
Yeah reached out to their support though slow and they hardly answer my questions said it was because PayPal was stopping access to VPN’S due to being ‘risky’. Yet others are fine and working… Shame to see this an no answer if Torguard going to least try fight it or something, their support getting worse too. Real Shame.
Hope they do as I said don’t want my credit card information on any site plus they need name and other details so no go an I personally don’t like paying with crypto etc.
Glad I’m not the only one
and yes I’m thinking the same especially if they let me down with the new AUS server coming…
Did ya move on? Can’t decide which service to choose
Yes most, not all which is odd. But as I said be interesting to see how it goes and why I asked if it was replacing it but alas appears not.
Not yet. I am on an annual subscription.
