Why does the price increase when trying to pay compared to price at checkout?

Trying to purchase the standard 2 year plan which at checkout says its $88 AUD but then when I go to pay it increases to $139.

That’s because the prices are not displayed in AUD, they are set to USD by default, Nord does not display their prices in all currencies unfortunately.

Had the exact same thing and asked for my money back. I noticed they logged it as ‘Android bug’ - they didn’t bother explaining it, but I did get my money. The transaction came from UK. But the ad isn’t in pounds and US currency conversion didn’t add up for me either.

I think you mix up US dollars and Australian dollars.

1 AUD is worth only 0.67 USD, and standard plan costs about 90USD. So when you go pay in AUS, it converts the amount to the currency you want to pay in. There’s no 2 year plan in Nord options that would cost only $88 AUD, all prices are displayed in United States dollars.

Thanks, that explains it

I figured I could just make a new account with a different email. (I pay for one with pseudonyms). I just started playing with the idea of trying out something I heard about called mullvad after Christmas.
