1password for password management. Right now, bitdefender.
If you are on Windows, you can use Microsoft defender and it works great. ESET used to be my go to for home computers for a subscription step up product or a Mac product.
For password managers you can go free with Bitwarden or KeepassXC. For paid you can look at 1password, an upgraded version of Bitwarden, or you can look at Proton Pass (my personal favorite because I’m a huge fan of Proton).
For VPN… I’d ask why you want one anymore. They have limited use. If I were forced to pick I would trust Proton for their VPN service - and you can get a package deal with a password manager, encrypted email, and online drive / file storage.
You don’t need a vpn
VPNs are a waste of time. Windows Defender is free and as good as you need. Bitwarden for password manager.
NordVPN didn’t try to cover it up back then. They actually dealt with it, there were some blog entries where they also showed how this data theft came about through a third-party certificate provider. After that, there were and still are external audits from time to time.
what kind of combo is this? worst
It’s Russian so based on current political climate is seen as untrustworthy by some I guess.
IF he lives in a country he would get fined for downloading torrents, he probably needs it.
No other reason for a vpn then.
nord vpn has been breeched multiple times. the one your refrencing was in 2019, but the breeches in 2018, 2021 and 2022 they covering up.
whats wrong with windscribe?
Well, it would be the only reason
