I have been trying to understand how it works, and i am not sure if i can do it or not with just steam remote play or i need an entire different set of programs, such as nvidia gamestream + moonlight. Or if i can use like zerotier one with steam link or whatever. And i have tested all the options i have mentioned but didn’t work as i was expecting, so please if anyone could explain to me what is the best option for streaming and playing my games from my PC, through an iPad outside of my house.I would be glad for any kind of help
Edit: Also to work with a Nintendo Pro Controller
Best solution: self host wireguard vpn server. Connect your iPad to your VPN, and you will be like streaming from home. This gives you the lowest latency than any other solution.
If you have difficulty setting up the VPN server yourself, then you can use tailscale/zerotier to replace the self hosting part. However, this means going through 3rd party servers and increased latency.
The easiest solution will be to use parsec or steam remote play. Configure one software and that is it. However, you will not be using gamestream/moonlight with these solutions. My personal experience is that moonlight/gamestream gives the best result.
Nvidia game stream on your gaming pc, moonlight on your iPad, tail scale logged in and connected on both devices to simulate virtual LAN connection.
I also use a game launcher as a first launch from moonlight like playnite in full screen mode for that really nice gaming console feel.
For a consistent gaming experience remotely you are either going to have to be connected to fast 5G cellular with full bars or to fast 5ghz wifi at a friends house with high speed home internet, ideally a fibre connection.

Well but i use tailscale plus another software or service right?
Well thank you for your insight
Not disagreeing with you, but in my experience I’ve noticed zero change in performance using Tailscale vs Self Hosted WireGuard. I’ve never bothered with ZeroTier so I can’t comment on this. Obviously there’s a lot of moving parts in my anecdotal experience but I’ve shifted to Tailscale all together as it’s a little easier to manage multiple clients from different devices. Managing my Google account 2FA is just easier than SSH keys to my WireGuard hosted server.
Moonlight on IOS only support connecting to LAN devices
That’s why there’re discussions about Zerotier, Tailgate.
What do you mean? Tailscale works as a WireGuard zero config client. So you just install Tailscale on the host and the client, sign in and then moonlight will recognize the host as a local machine.
