I’m wondering what is best small/cheap/quiet/reliable/low power server to setup Openvpn server on?
This is to leave at a remote site so would need it to power in after a power failure etc.
Need it to support 2-3 clients.

I personally like using older (i.e. depeciated, tax write off, or out of warranty) laptops and SFFs - they’ll be about 3-5 years old, generally pretty quiet and reliabile. Just turn on “Wake on AC connect”, optionally add a second NIC via USB or PCI etc.
That’s if you’re not looking to buy new, but if you were I would still consider a “sandwich” or USDT form factor PC for the job.

any openwrt compatible router will do
Get the mango router. Checkout GL.iNet for more options. Best for a VPN imo
That’s what I normally get but I’m not paying $150 LOL
My OpenVPN server is running on a Raspberry Pi 3b+. I learned a lot from watching this YouTube video from Linus: https://youtu.be/uJvCVw1yONQ
Since Pi 4’s are (currently) so expensive- that video shows a lot of alternatives, all of which are more than capable of running OpenVPN.
any good cheap models that you’d suggest i look into?
So it can act as a VPN server? I’d have to install it behind existing router but will want it to have access to everything on the local LAN. What “mode” would I want to set it up to do that?
theres some other brands of single board computers Google Search
