My school you can’t even have it in your pocket, like if a teacher sees a phone sitting in your pocket untouched they’ll take it
Everyone needs an iPad but the WiFi doesn’t work in half the classrooms. It’s our fault btw not theirs according to them
2 things that I don’t like:
no phones for any reason, even if you have to take a picture of your assignment, meaning we have to use our computer’s crappy front cameras to do so (computers have been dropped doing this method)
no headphones or airpods under any circumstance?? these were just banned this year but now I not only have barely any use for my headphones since I’m not allowed to use them at home unless the family tv is that loud, but now I cant focus during study hall, and I barely do assignments there now because of it
Not in high school anymore but my district has moved to chromebooks. This is a terrible move being made around the country that will lead to even less computer litteracy among a generation that is already less computer litterate than their predecesors. Chromebooks are not real world computers you’d use in the workforce.
If they see an airpods case through your pocket, the teachers are allowed to call security to take your phone, smartwatch, etc even if they’re in your backpack.
can’t wear headphones on the library
can’t use Google sites; our study material is on a Google site.
Depends on teacher to teacher but the official rule is no phones/headphones during class, but most teacher will let you listen to music if you’re not being actively taught. Phones are a little more stricter where some allow no phone usage while some will let you if you aren’t doing anything.
You’re allowed them during passing period/lunch as well
Any foreign material is blocked.
Even if it’s for research purposes. Can’t even view stuff from Britain.
I live in America. Its stupid.
HAHAHAAAAA THIS IS MY TIME!
We have to put our phones in ‘Faraday pouches.’ Basically, they are velcro sealed signal blocking pouches. We are not allowed to take them out of the pouches without explicit permission from the teachers.
Here at my school some of my classes have phone pockets and they tell us to put our phones up in the pockets otherwise if we don’t we will be counted as tardy or absent and we can only have our phones when it is 5 minutes before the bell to change classes and 5 minutes before the bell for C lunch.
When I was in hs (2 years ago), it was no phones or really any tech apart from going to the computer lab to type essays. We turned everything in on paper, in person (even printing essays). We shortly had google classroom set up for covid, but it was straight back to paper submissions once we were back in person.
Only thing I retrospectively wish I had a phone for was pictures, I don’t really have any from my time in school and I wish I could remember more of it (my memory is really shit, and I have aphantasia so pictures are really key to looking back on my past). I made closer friends than most people do in highschool (despite living hundreds of miles away for college, we frequently hang out online and have backpacking trips planned for next summer, and are generally stay in touch way better than most people) and I do attribute that partially to the no phone rules (instead of scrolling many of us made genuine relationships that potentially wouldn’t have happened/wouldn’t be as strong if we had our phones)
No phones are allowed to be on you. They have to be in your locker and if you are caught with it then it gets taken away from you. If it happens twice, then every day after that you have to hand your phone to your head of year in the morning.
rule: no phones or headphones
enforced? nah
No phone in class and for some reason no phones in the library or cafeteria!??! That’s literally the stupidest rule, luckily you can go to a building that’s not the school to go on your phone (you’re not supposed to be there either
) but damn; banning them in the caf is just unnecessary
yonder pouches and many blocked websites (pretty much all games and some specific search phrases)
don’t have it out or it will be put in a paper bag? and if have airpods in they’ll also be put in a paper bag.i just wear a beanie and they’ll never know
No phones at all. If they get seen, taken. Personally, I love this rule. I can focus, without ever needing to be distracted. Plus, vpns work on school wifi, so people just play games on their laptop. AirPods and headphones are allowed though. Teacher’s discretion, but most don’t care.
No headphones. Luckily a bunch of teachers don’t enforce it, but those who do are annoying.
No technology whatsoever during class periods, same with school issued laptops, if the teacher says close it, then your required to close it or its getting taken. Like dude, I’m and A and B student and I tend to finish everything before my classes are done, so I just sit there, I mean I would play on my ds if I could. These policies are not only screwing up the dumbass students who screw up their future by doing nothing, but also the smart kids what have nothing to do bc their always done with everything. Oh well, I’m getting closer to graduating, hell might even do early graduation, I dont mind going into the workforce early.
Edit: I totally forgot, they also make us put our phones in these caddy’s and they take attendance off of it too. And if your there and the phone is missing, they can call you down to the office and search you, and if they find it they can take it and suspend you. I overall think its stupid asf
