So bear with me…
I’m on a government network with a government issued, Windows 7 laptop. Had the StrongVPN Client from September 2014 - October 2014 and then uninstalled and set up the connection in my network settings as an SSTP connection instead. Worked like a charm until a virus came on my computer and was wiped by the IT guys here and I was set up with practically a brand new computer. Went to set up connection again as SSTP and it connected. Albeit, it only connected for about 15 minutes at a time before I had to reset the connection.
Attempted to get help from Strong, ended up setting up 2 more connections: one as L2TP and one as a StrongVPN adapter(?). None of these now work and so I re-downloaded the client. Client worked for a while, 3 days ago, stopped allowing me to sign in and says “Error - Cannot connect to login server”. So I try to go back and switch servers to attempt to get my SSTP network connection (aside from the client) working which means I needed to change the Host Name: won’t allow me to change any setting claiming “Cannot write phonebook. Error 624: The system could not update the phone book file”. It won’t even allow me to delete the settings that I’ve made for any of them.
I read something about navigating the registry to try to change setting or delete connections but I’m not computer savvy enough to make this happen (if it can even happen).
Any ideas?
