The VPN is working, BUT I still can’t reach the web GUI interface for the dockers I am passing thru? Any ideas? I have added the ports to delugeVPN. What am I missing?
I 2nd AirVPN. Very easy and simple to use.
Yeah, see above. I wasn’t creating the auth file. Will try shortly and report.
I have a setup guide for mullvad that walks step by step with screenshot on how to set up binhex’s containers with it.

Seconding the recommendation for Mullvad. Easy to setup and works great.
Also use mullvad and recommend it. I only have used wire guard never used openvpn if that matters
Mullvad doesn’t have a bandwidth cap. My max download speed for usenet through them caps at about 100MiB/s (~800Mb/s) which is pretty much exactly the same speed I get directly.
PIA with wireguard I’ve seen 110 MB/s on a very well seeded linux iso. On average, I’m between 30-60 MB/s. I get about the same on Usenet, but that’s without VPN.
I don’t think there is a cap apart from capabilities. Just tested mine. Off VPN I’m 300d/334u, on Mullvad I’m 287d/310u. (By the way, I have 200/200 fios, but it has always been about 300/300).
Super easy,
But it depends on the container you are using.
For binhex/delugevpn you just use notepad or something and put your username on the first row, password on the second and save the file in \appdata\binhex-delugevpn\openvpn as “credentials.conf” (your .ovpn file should be in this folder btw)
For openvpn-client its appdata\openvpn-client “vpn.auth” and “vpn.ovpn”
These are the only two I have experience with, but they are similar to set up across the board I believe
EDIT: I am not sure how different configuring PIA is for delugevpn, as i had to set the vpn option to “custom” rather than PIA in the initial config.
You should check out #s 24 and 25 in this FAQ: https://github.com/binhex/documentation/blob/master/docker/faq/vpn.md
I’d bet you need to remove the port assignments in the template for each container you’re trying to pass through.
Are you perhaps getting confused between VPN Servers and VPN Clients?
Paid VPN services give you access to a VPN server which you then connect to using a VPN client (DelugeVPN, or a Desktop APP, or a Router client setup). This gives you privacy for the traffic using the VPN.
This has nothing whatsoever to do with accessing your LAN externally though, like being able to connect to your WebGUIs whie outside the house. For that you need to set up your own VPN Server inside your LAN which you then connect to using a VPN Client on your Phone or Laptop or whatever while you’re not at home. This doesn’t require a paid service, as it’s YOUR VPN Server.
Are you manually navigating to IP:PORT in the browser? (Like 192.168.1.2:32400 etc) It should work. If not check the container logs / restart them
Edit, did you turn pivoxy on?
edit 2, you are on your lan trying to access these correct, or are you remote trying to access your lan?
We may need screenshots at this point. Sorry
Kape Technlogies.
Kape Technologies, who doesn’t have the best past when it comes to security nor privacy. They even bundled malware in with one of their products once.
What does your setup with Mullvad + Wireguard look like?
Why use a VPN for usenet downloading?
I can use delugevpn’s connection for the other dockers as Space Invader explains, so I can just copy your directions. I will get you know how it goes. Thanks a lot
I think he is using privoxy in delugevpn / passing the containers through delugevpn
I am local. Screenshot for this would be just - Safari can’t open page
