VPN on AX1800S via Xfinity

I’m hoping to setup a VPN so I can stream xfinity tv when at my second home (xfinity only allows full streaming from your “home” network).

Problem is I’m away right now and will only be stopping in to install the router tomorrow for a few hours so I need to do my homework so I can set it up then.

The service there is an xfinity residential gateway (modern/router combo)

My understanding is I will need to:

Plug the uplink port off the AX1800 into the xfinity gateway

Turn on VPN server on the AX1800 (I plan to use openvpn)

Create a VPN user account

Turn on DDNS (going to use ASUS)

Download the open vpn config

Then use a VPN client (going to use OpenVPN Connect) to connect by uploading the open von config.

Am I missing any steps and is this something that should work on a Comcast residential gateway?
