I think the pi will boot on ac power automatically so it should be self recovering from power outages and such.
Becuase your ISP will sometimes change your IP address and if they do, your setup won’t work. With DuckDNS the setup will point to a dns address that then points to your IP address that your ISP gives you, regardless of what it is. This way your connection always works.
Hey! I work for a big insurance company doing Customer service. I answer about 20 phone calls a day and sometimes have to be on a zoom call. I want to do this from colombia. Will I have a strong enough connection if I am tunneling my connection through a vpn server I have at home? My home network has very strong wifi speeds through green light
Really hard to know until you do it
thanks for your quick response. how many months have you been abroad
if you’re asking, how long has the connection been stable? Then my answer would be, it’s always stable. twice I’ve had to unplug the VPN client/router and plug it back in on the abroad side but this is due to the abroad connection and not the VPN server. I highly recommend the GL.iNet GL-AXT1800 (Slate AX) Pocket-Sized Wi-Fi 6 Gigabit Travel Router.
You’re the best. thank you for your response. I meant to ask how many months have you successfully been working abroad. I want to do 2-3 months
You should be fine. Turn on the kill switch in the router should the connection drop. This way you won’t leak your local IP.
