I am having an issue with the Sonicwall VPN where when trying to connect it brings up the windows security login screen and I put in valid credentials for the domain. When I do this it puts a blank drop down under the windows VPN option and a next option. I click next and get a message that says ‘Failed to request authentication information from user’. I was able to test the RADIUS authentication successfully with MSCHAP it shows the user is a part of the VPN-Users group. I have reinstalled the mobile connect app and I wasn’t able to to find much information other than the set up and stuff I have already done. Most of the articles say when the RADIUS tests successful that it should work. Any ideas on where to go next?
What is providing the radius Auth, is it NPS?
I have run into a similar problem in the past and have argued with a coworker over the solution till I proved it to him. For whatever reason my environment is case-sensitive on the username. I have never found info that said this is the case but it will only connect if you get your capps right. one of those oddball IT things to try. I’m running Radius to Duo MFA to active directory BTW.
Worth noting that the mobile connect app on Windows PCs is being dropped - what type of VPN are you using?
If Global VPN, use the Global VPN client, I’d SSL-VPN, use NetExtender.
We’ve seen issues similar with Mobile Connect on PCs and there doesn’t seem to be a reliable fix, except switch to the other VPN client
