I am trying to access Paramount+ live sports of my subscription from outside US.
Unfortunately I am unable to watch it because even from browser (I tried on mobile app) the stream fails cause detect I am on a VPN connection even using stealth mode.
Can I ask why?
Is it so simple to detect VPN and restrict what you can access?
I mean following this also Russia and China people that have to “avoid” censorship etc… are able to do it because Government allows the VPN use?

Stealth helps you navigate around ISP restrictions. It won’t help you connect to a website if it’s blocking that VPN IP.

Because governments usually inspect the packets for VPN information, while websites block ips or data centers entirely. Why even pay for paramount when r/piracy will show you how to watch it without a sub
Set to auto and use one of the servers specifically marked “streaming” itll work. sometimes the first one doesn’t one will tho
The app and website for both check permissions. For live stream the do additional parameters like GPS permissions and speed (network ping) so if you have a slow connection and through any VPN it will get flagged. Also device ID but that should be alright considering you are using the same set of hardware to access the service.
If you search with Google, there are a numbers of techniques that the other end of a VPN conduit can use to determine that a VPN is being used.
The VPN protocol wasn’t really developed to hide location, etc., from the endpoints of the VPN conduit — it was designed to provide privacy from the midpoints.
streaming platforms are using a very simple method, the billing information for your subscription tells them where you live or should live and they now just dont allow streaming if your connection comes from a place to far way and you dont have session cookie on a device indicated it is traveling. It is dead simple and more and more are starting to use it to filter VPN users.
Movies and TV Series are working fine on it. Only live sports are blocked.
Because on that subreddit the solution proposed are not for a SmartTV… it involves using a browser

Same happens with Disney+ which I’ve cancelled. Love sports are not entirely blocked but they detect and throttle the connection so the quality is awful. When you watch a show on the same connection it works fine and you can watch fine. I decided to cancel my Disney+ subscription and found an alternative way to watch live sports with decent quality.
It’s involves setting up a paid AWS server and so forth not worth it for a stream. What are you trying to watch??
I am trying to use any US server (WireGuard and Stealth)… tried a bunch but every single one experienced the same problem on live sports
